NEWSLETTER Spring 2020

May Meeting Going Virtual
In-Person Meeting is Cancelled

In light of COVID-19, the Tribal Convenience Store Association is shifting its May Member meeting to a virtual format via Zoom. On May 21 and 22, you're invited to experience great content from leading experts on inventory management without leaving the comfort of your home. Our speakers will address some of your biggest inventory pain points to help you increase profits, control the chaos, and reduce shrink. And to show support to the broader industry at this challenging time, we're also inviting all tribes and tribal c-store operators to participate for free.

Retail is Detail
Presented by: Bill Scott, President of StoreReport LLC. & Dr. Andrea M. Scott, U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.

Explore best practices in inventory storage, order fulfillment, and other aspects of c-store and storeroom operations. We will examine the concepts and strategies of 21st-century inventory control as we seek to minimize your overall operations and fixed asset costs while meeting or exceeding your customers' expectations of in-stock, pricing and selections.

Making Your Inventory Work For You, Not Against You
Presented by: William H. Marvin, Chief Procurement Officer Al Copeland Investments, Inc.,

For a business that sells product, having inventory on hand is part of creating a positive customer experience. When customers can get items quickly, loyalty is built because customers know the business keeps product in stock. If inventory moves regularly and quickly, business owners are likely to carry some excess inventory. In order to make inventory work for you, the first step is to clearly understand supply chain components, types of inventory and the pros and cons of excess inventory. In my presentation, I will discuss 8 Essential Inventory Management Techniques and the key inventory sales ratio to measure how efficient a company is in managing its inventory. These strategies can be applied across multiple industries to reduce cost of goods and maximize profits.

Taking Control of Your Inventory
Presented by: Wayne E. Fisher II, Ascending Brands

During Wayne's 20+ years in the c-store industry, he rose from a single-store manager to a market manager responsible for 100 c-stores. He will share a data-driven approach to inventory management that ensures that each unit you stock in your store is being maximized.

BONUS PRESENTATION: C-store best practices for COVID-19
Presented by: Lisa Johnson, Harbor Wholesale Foods

Harbor Wholesale provides food-service solutions to the c-stores in Washington, one of the states hit hardest by COVID-19. Lisa will share battle-tested tactics and helpful resources for safer food service and overall c-store operations during these challenging times.

Please remember to cancel your hotel reservations. Clearwater River Casino & Lodge call 208-746-0723, or Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center call 509-758-9500.
